They are made of some kind of nylon, the cream-colored section has a little padding. They were VERY narrow and difficult to fit over the captain's chairs. I managed to put them on but the bottom of the seat chair doesn't fit completely into the chair. I kept them because they are waterproof, at least they prevent dirt from getting onto the original chairs. I will probably buy something else in the future, better quality and more suitable. But now they will.
