I haven't cross stitched since I was a kid (and I'm pretty sure it came from patterns printed on fabric). This is a great cross stitch project for beginners or those with limited time. Don't get me wrong, these things still take many hours, but the end result was worth it. Lots of thread/floss. And they include an extra pink/blue thread so you can personalize the owl and lettering based on baby's gender. I also watched a few YouTube videos, which I found incredibly boring, but gave me some ideas and tips. I made a mistake counting here and there, and the pattern is forgiving. I decided not to correct all my mistakes as it didn't really affect the painting. I bought a second, larger and more complex template and while I'm off to a great start, it will definitely require a lot more time and patience.
