Review on ๐Ÿถ Double Door Soft Sided Crate - MidWest Canine Camper by Hayden Hart

This is a dog .

Looking for a portable cage for traveling with our medium sized (45 lbs) Portuguese Water Dog we decided to try this Midwestern product which has been a huge hit with foldable metal cages. This model arrived quickly, but during the very first indoor test setup, one of the zippers used to assemble the fabric structure broke in a corner, an obvious stress point. Also, as other buyers have noted, the corner supports are quite flimsy, making the design wobbly and feel unreliable. Even with the curtains drawn, the interior is dark and poorly ventilated. Given the poor technique and our dog's tendency to chew, we didn't even try to put it in and sent it back to Revain for a refund. I would add that while it does have a nice carrying case, it is quite large and heavy due to the solid wood floor required for structural support. It can weigh more and take up more space when folded than a wire box with comparable sides. After seeing this I was under the impression that a smaller wire box would work just as well or even better as it offers good ventilation and a less cramped feel. When you need shade or protection from the weather, a wire box fabric cover will do the job and take up less space when packing.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
