My daughter is about 50 inches tall and weighs 52 pounds and I bought her an 8-10 fearing they would be small but they were way too big! She pulled the string and slightly poke a hole in it, but I think it was more about her than being pantyhose.
We ordered goldenrod and I was pleasantly surprised at how "fall yellow" it is! Beautiful, deep, rich color. I'll buy a size smaller again if she wears that Thanksgiving outfit again.
