Review on πŸ’ͺ High-Powered Brushless Grinder with PWRAssist Battery: Ultimate Convenience and Performance by Justin Reese

Revainrating 4 out of 5

There is no storage bag but the quality is higher than I expected from Skil.

My experience with the Skil so far is that it's more of a "price category" tool like Black and Decker and Ryobi. Doesn't compete with higher end brands like DeWALT, Makita (my favorite) or Milwaukee. However, I was impressed with the build quality of this Skil angle grinder. It's durable and the materials used seem to hold up. Buttons and switches work perfectly, the battery is no joke, in operation it works smoothly. I weighed the tool with the handle and battery at 6 pounds 1.4 ounces. The battery itself weighs 1 lb 10 oz. Like I said, pretty solid. The handle can be attached to both sides as well as the back (good for cutting), giving the tool good versatility for use in different positions. Supplied with a PWRCORE 20 battery (Lithium 5Ah, 20V). with a fuel gauge (aka power level). Includes PWRJUMP charger (model: QC536001) so you can charge your battery when it's low. Interestingly, there is also a USB charging adapter (model: AD592301) that connects to the battery so you can use it as a power bank. This is useful when you need to charge other devices, such as your mobile phone, at work. The kit includes a disc that I measured to be 0.25 inches wide. But there is only one disc and it's for grinding. If you need a cutting disc, you need to buy one separately. Another thing missing from this set is the lack of a bag or storage case. Overall I am very happy with this set. This Skil angle grinder is genuine and of higher quality than I previously thought. I only wish it had a bag/case and more drive options.

Pros
  • CHARGE IN 5 MINUTES - The automatic PWRJump charges the battery in just 5 minutes, enough to turn up to 100 screws (based on a 2.0Ah battery).
Cons
  • A little shabby
