I ordered this amp to replace an old integrated amp that I was using to drive two additional pairs of speakers from the Zone 2 outputs of my surround amp. This seems like a good choice for this application as it can drive two sets of speakers and turn on automatically when it detects a signal from the output of another amplifier. But after a few weeks of testing I had to go back as the sound, while powerful enough for my large Paradigm floorstanding speakers, just didn't sound right. Sharper than my old Arcam integrated amp, especially at high frequencies. It has good features for this price range, such as auto power on when a signal is detected and adjustable level controls for each channel (you also need to set the maximum level with the small controls on the back of the unit) and remote control (A/B switch ). , Power) but didn't sound right with my better speakers. However, sound was detected when connected to Polk Audio outdoor speakers. You may need to get your old Arcam repaired as there isn't much choice for sub $500 two channel audio amps.
