I only had one travel mug which I rated five stars in all categories, which was used for several years until eventually it wore out from constant use. Compared to this benchmark, this one looks very profitable, but by no means perfect. So far it seems to hold up heat and cold very well. It is of high quality and aesthetics. It's well balanced and the taper in the middle makes this rather large mug easier to hold. Fits most coasters. The upper is generally okay; it passes the "Upside Down Hold" test with cool liquids, but not hot ones. In fact, you have to be very careful when putting the lid on so that it still seals well. The lid is made entirely of plastic, not rubber like many mugs in this price range. As for the tipless bottom, this feature works well overall, but holds up surprisingly inconsistently on different surfaces and isn't as grippy as one would expect on some slick, flat services. Having read relatively few negative reviews about the bottom falling apart etc, I suspect these users have ignored the instructions provided with the mug, hand wash only and also picked it up straight instead of sideways which will result in carry. fast enough.
