The versatility of RAM products is great and this universal smartphone mount is perfect. I ride my motorcycle every day and was looking for somewhere to hold my iPhone 4 so I can 1) see who's calling me (I have a motorcycle helmet bluetooth communicator) and 2) for GPS/routing when i need it I see some other reviews mention it has tiny screws to assemble - it's VERSATILE! Yes, you must try different sized "fingers" and match them to YOUR phone/cover! Back to my review; I have a "Ballistic" case for my iPhone 4 and the medium sized fingers fit perfectly. The phone/case slides in easily from the top and stays securely in place. I had a speed bump on my bike with my phone in the mount and never worried about it coming loose (maybe a big enough hit could jar the phone?). While this mount doesn't look pretty, it's certainly functional and versatile. It does NOT provide rain protection for your phone, but common sense will tell you that. I usually use the zipper to get my phone in before putting it in the holder. I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone and read that this mount should work for it; It's a bonus that the mount isn't specific to your phone model! I will try a new phone in this mount as soon as I get a phone case I'm happy with.
