I've searched everywhere to find a replacement light for my Christmas tree which I bought from Frontgate years ago to no avail. It came with two spare skeins so I used bulbs from the skeins that got me through last year and ran out of them. I found that I could just buy a replacement bulb and reuse the shell and my problem was solved! A few things to note... *my tree uses .42w, be sure to check your headlights. Using 0.5w in the filament spec for 0.42w will actually make your headlights dimmer. *My headlights need a crimped bulb, make sure an uncrimped bulb will not fit. * Don't throw away bad bulbs, keep the shell and reuse when needed. I couldn't find an equivalent bulb replacement for my Frontgate tree because other bulbs didn't fit. *Replace blown bulbs as soon as others burn out. All the lightbulbs burn out and it usually happens right after you replace all the bad ones and you think you're done only to watch others die...
