Ideal for fixing Prelite wood. They work great. They're hard to replace, but better than trying to remove and replace the strings on a pre-lit tree. I wouldn't use them for street lights, just throw them away and buy new filament. But for Prelit yes. It is very important that the lamp type matches on the tag. This product has breathed new life into a 10 year old Balsam Hill tree! The lights on the tree have gone out over the years and we no longer have original parts. Balsam Hill have changed the sockets for the replacement bulbs that you receive from Balsam Hill and they no longer fit our tree. I've searched everywhere to find a replacement light for my Christmas tree which I bought from Frontgate years ago to no avail. It came with two spare skeins so I used bulbs from the skeins that got me through last year and ran out of them. I found that I could just buy a replacement bulb and reuse the shell and my problem was solved! A few things to note... *my tree uses .42w, be sure to check your headlights. Using 0.5w in the filament spec for 0.42w will actually make your headlights dimmer.
