THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED!

So I have some Christmas presents: a big tree, a big garland, and some other random items. This year I decided to replace all the burned out lightbulbs. The tree had this odd protrusion at the end of the bulb for some reason and I couldn't find anything like that at this point. Finally after a few days of reading and searching I thought they might work low and here they are! I just took the old bulb out of its socket (whatever it's called) and put the new bulb in! Now I have a lot ofโ€ฆ

Works well but is darker than the old ones

I bought these because at 0.5w they were the brightest I could find. However, they are dimmer than the old bulbs on our lighted Christmas tree in front of the gate. They're also darker than the ones in the pre-lit star ornament, making it look like it's not just wood. In a tree with thousands of other lights this is not critical, but in a star ornament where there are only 10 lights the darkness of these bulbs is striking. One star off for lack of brightness. Found some unexploded parts and Iโ€ฆ

Great for our pre-lit tree.

I have a pre-lit tree (10ft) that is now 19 years old. Together with a lighting professional I learned how to repair lamps very well. The tree uses 2.5 volt incandescent bulbs at 170mA. Each individual strand has 50 bulbs. The light intensity is just right. You need to know the voltage, wattage (or amperage), and number of bulbs per filament to get it right. If you don't achieve this, you will have a light that is too bright or too dim, and you also run the risk of blowing too much currentโ€ฆ

Ideal replacement for warm white lamps.

I wanted to replace many of the warm white bulbs on my pre-lit Christmas tree. After searching all the local hardware and department stores I couldn't find one that was compatible with lamp sockets. On closer inspection, the bulbs are tapered at the end of the wire rather than outright rounded to fit properly in the socket. The Vermont 612 brand was an exact replacement in terms of fit and electrical compatibility. By checking the wiring markings on my tree for voltage and amperage I was ableโ€ฆ

I have 99 problems and they're all because of those damn lightbulbs.

Well I got them because I wanted to replace the green bulbs on the wire ornament with white bulbs. The first problem: there were only 99 white pears in the pack. Second issue: after all have been unplugged and plugged in, half don't light up (yes I plugged in the original green lights to make sure they worked and they did). So now I have a chunky green lightbulb. And I need to come back with more green lightbulbs and check every white lightbulb to find one or the ones that don't work. Iโ€ฆ

Ideal for pre-lit wood.

Ideal for fixing Prelite wood. They work great. They're hard to replace, but better than trying to remove and replace the strings on a pre-lit tree. I wouldn't use them for street lights, just throw them away and buy new filament. But for Prelit yes. It is very important that the lamp type matches on the tag. It's also important to replace lightbulbs as soon as you realize they've burned out. Otherwise the resistance in the circuit will eventually drop and the energy going to the remainingโ€ฆ

Rejuvenating a 10 Year Old Balsam Hill Tree!

This product has breathed new life into a 10 year old Balsam Hill tree! The lights on the tree have gone out over the years and we no longer have original parts. Balsam Hill have changed the sockets for the replacement bulbs that you receive from Balsam Hill and they no longer fit our tree. I had spares from other regular filaments, but they didn't have what I later found out to be a pinched socket, so I couldn't use these bulbs at Balsam Hill outlets. Luckily, 612 Vermont had just what Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Check the white label near the plug to confirm the voltage, mA and power required for your device.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

I can finally fix my Frontgate pre-lit tree!

I've searched everywhere to find a replacement light for my Christmas tree which I bought from Frontgate years ago to no avail. It came with two spare skeins so I used bulbs from the skeins that got me through last year and ran out of them. I found that I could just buy a replacement bulb and reuse the shell and my problem was solved! A few things to note... *my tree uses .42w, be sure to check your headlights. Using 0.5w in the filament spec for 0.42w will actually make your headlights dimmer.

Pros
  • Sold in a box with a pouch of 100 bulbs for easy storage
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Hack to check for blown bulbs

Worked great. I would advise you to look at the tag on your current headlight before ordering the correct replacement bulb. At first I thought they wouldn't work when replacing the light on a pre-lit tree. Although they weren't "single ended", you may need to replace more than one to get it working again if more than one bulb burned out in a section. I came up with my own hack. I took out a sheet of white paper and a flashlight. I held the white paper to the back of the bulbs and then shone aโ€ฆ
