This camera can work if your project is not about getting the color anywhere near right. For any project where you care even a little bit about color (including contrast), this is pure crap. In what any sane person would consider "normal" lighting conditions, everything is pink. If you can make sure everything is heavily lit you might be able to get some colors, but they won't really get close to the exact colors. I included three photos in this review, all of the same Green Apple Jelly. The first shows the pink world that you're almost certainly going to get from this camera in almost any circumstance. The second shows an example of the limited color the camera would get if I added some INSANE lighting (there are two bright white LEDs shining straight onto this bob and the camera can barely handle the sickly yellow shade of green ). The last photo shows what a regular webcam (NOT THIS CAMERA) can do without flare in a poorly lit home office. The latter isn't perfect, but it's pretty close, and if you try a little to get the lighting right you'll be fine. The only good thing I can say about this camera is that it always gets a picture and doesn't really look over or under exposed. If for some reason you always need to take a picture in extreme lighting but would be ok with a black and white picture, then this camera might be perfect for you (and you probably need to convert everything to black and white).
