They are much more comfortable and fit much better than the old school shoes (with spiked soles that have always stretched too quickly and never have fitted correctly). It's literally almost like socks in the water but you don't go through shells/rocks/points. I like the thinner sole, it's almost like I'm hugging my feet the entire time I walk. In fact, my anxious teen almost approves (anyone with a teenage girl knows how big it is. She hates wearing them, so the near-approval is shocking).
