We used these to determine the sex of a baby and they worked great. Everyone was very excited to see what we would have, including us. We camped in the backyard of my brother's house. The ball was laid. It was the size and weight of a real golf ball. When the ball was hit, it came out in a light cloud. Disclosure... BOY! There are two small points that made me give 4 stars instead of 5. First, the cloud could have been a bit bigger and more visible. We had a small party of 15 people and if there was a big party it could be a problem for those far away. Second, the ball threw the shrapnel in a good direction. It didn't hurt anyone, but in a small backyard it was a problem. To warn against that, it would be good if people stood behind us and not on the sides. Those two minor issues aside, it was a quality product that did exactly what was expected of it.
