Review on Claysmith Gaming Heavyweight 13 5 Gram Composite Sports & Fitness for Leisure Sports & Game Room by Pavel Craig

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not a bad poker chip, not exactly professional

These chips are a good weight but don't quite capture the feel of the chips you'll find at your favorite casino, but they come close. I chose this template based on my collection of Hard Rock Cafe items. These chips have that vibe and they look pretty good. Two of the chips that arrived had paint issues, one was broken and one was from a completely different set. I contacted the manufacturer to see how I can replace it. Until they contacted me. Their website has been saying "under maintenance" for a few days, so I think that's a bad sign. But despite the typo, the affected chips are playable. I just feel when paying for a product like this every chip should be the same quality. If I get a reply from the manufacturer and swap the chips I'll update the rating accordingly, but right now I can't give as many good reviews as I'd like. *EDIT* While the Claysmith website says 'under maintenance', they were actually purchased from Bribelli. Calling the toll free number will put you through to Brybelly. Finally, I got a call from a representative ("Antoinette”) who emailed Bribelli a photo of the damaged chips with typos. The $5 chips are out of stock at the moment, she suggested just replacing the $1 chips. While I understand stock issues, these are obvious typographical errors and I'd rather have my collection free from quality control errors. The ball is on their side and I'll let you know if they improve. Pros: The good weight makes it feel like a real chip. Looks pretty close to reality. Casinos are more cherry. A sharp comb on the side rubs and picks up the color on the side. Quality control problems.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not everything fits
