. I also saw a man struggling with the device to keep the spring behind the mount. So it was with me. The hole in the bracket doesn't line up exactly with the thermostat, and it's just a matter of luck to keep the spring from slipping through the bracket. I was unlucky and it took several hours to put everything back together where it looked like it could stay together. Despite that, it seems to work well and didn't fall apart after our first ride, but I don't trust it and will test it after every ride.
