My Finish Spitz's previous collar was nylon and had a plastic buckle. I suppose it slipped off one day and our youthful Sprocker Spaniel chewed the buckle prongs rendering her pal's collar useless. This time I opted for a leather collar trusting that it wouldn't be too thin, so that it might wear quickly or too thick, and dig into our Spitz's neck. This collar is perfect! it is thick and the length is fashioned into a smooth roll so that when she moves her neck the collar moves with her instead of digging into her neck. Initially, I felt the cost was high, but after inspecting the collar and comparing what I can get for less money, this collar is well worth the extra dollars.
