I spent quite a while researching, reading reviews, etc. for something that would be vibrant, permanent, and last long (possibly outdoors). These pens worked great and there's so many colors to choose from. I made sure to follow the directions, especially the first time around (shake and push air out). Well, my project idea on an old saw I found at the swap meet, it was so nice, my husband doesn't want me to put it outside (lol).Next, I plan to do the same but a large floral design on a couple metal milk jugs we have displayed in the garden. For the "faux crosstitch", I use plastic canvas and a black Sharpie permanent marker to create the crosstitch "holes". When dry, I fill in with an X, the "stitches" with the oil base, water resistant, fade resistant paint pens.
