Fast protection for an unprotected 12" blade. The holder comes with a screw, washer and threaded handle for a secure hold of the blade. The teeth are well protected at the edge. holds ONE blade well. The holder protects the blade from the dangers of the world. The holder also protects me from the sharp teeth of the blade. The handle that screws onto the washer to hold the blade sticks out a little. some separation if you're hanging several together. I don't see that as a problem, just need to know beforehand. Ideally this blade holder should have a deeper shaft and be able to hold three or four blades with spacers to allow the teeth of one blade don't interact with the next blade. There should also be a carrying handle, not just a hanging slot. Until then, this Big Horn blade holder fits well. While the price isn't "cheap," it's not so expensive that buying two or three is a barrier to protecting expensive 12-inch blades. The increased safety for the blade and for my hands is worth the price.
