I love the bamboo look

I have ordered several coffin shaped incense holders and was unhappy with the quality - lids misaligned, side panels dangle and dangle, cracks in the wood panels, wood feels brittle. For example, if it accidentally falls, there is a good chance it will break. After some late night browsing, I'm glad I stumbled across this one. It has good reviews, is eco-friendly, looks sturdy, and the bamboo look goes well with my bamboo plants. That's why I ordered it. Received it today and I love the sturdy box it came in. It's well packaged; It will be a great gift. However, the glossy finish/coating is patchy. There are areas on the sides of the holder and the back where it is dull and looks like the coating has peeled off. Second, the ashtray/panel that opens into the incense drawer is VERY difficult to open. It's probably only mine, but I had to use the edge of a knife to open it. I think with the constant opening and closing of the panel, I'm hoping the hinges loosen up a bit. In the meantime, I have a trusty knife handy to open this thing. I figure this is enough to store my Nag Champa incense sticks! First use: I light my first incense and poke a hole in it. I appreciate that the hole is angled so that when you insert the incense stick it is also angled. He's holding the stick. I've read reviews from people that it's very good at capturing ashes. Well, maybe it's just mine, but if the ash breaks off it falls to the side and lands on my drawer/shelf/rug. Hm. Maybe that's how my incense stick burns? Will have to try other brands in the future. Despite some shortcomings, I can still recommend this burner/holder! Namaste!
