Perfect for the price

Great FM transmitter if you know how to solder at the most basic level. I bought this transmitter to help with my Christmas lights this year. I bought this for $12, I got a small spool of 4$ 18g speaker wire, found a washer and a piece of wood and got the transmitter to work for me. I cut the wire to about 28 inches long and striped both ends. There are two segments of copper wire on each side, I twisted one of them, and the second I split in two and twisted so that I have 3 twisted ends on one side. I used one of the half strands to go through the ANT hole on the module and then twisted all three strands together. I soldered all the wires and covered them with 1/8" heat shrink tubing. I attached the other end to the 4x4 harness block I had, I drilled a hole on one side and a hole on the top and both holes met in the Middle.. I ran the wire from the side and from the top, I soldered the wire to the washer and pushed everything into the hole with the washer wedged firmly into the hole vertically.I made my antenna so that it didn't tilt twisted or losing wires because it runs from my computer in our stash and I prefer the antenna to be a reliable object that nobody can mess with than a lost wire.I also use a micro USB data cable for power and audio I get decent range with this setting My computer is in a room at the back of our house From the computer to the front lawn through 2 walls, the front door and about 60-70 ft. Vo It is about 35-40 meters from the lawn to the road. So, from the computer to the road, about 30-30 meters and 3 wooden barriers. I got in my car, connected to my chosen station and was able to drive about 10-12 houses in either direction down my street before I started losing signal. This setup is exactly what I was looking for in terms of quality and distance. This module completely beats the cost of a $100+ FM transmitter, save at least $100 and solder the antenna to this unit.
