They're great when you know they're *not* real wood and metal (I think that should be obvious given the price). I assembled them into a three tier table so it was tall enough to place a lamp next to my sofa (the individual tables are pretty short). You look way better than you would expect. The legs have the look of real metal but without the weight, and the 'wood' has an aged look which was exactly what I wanted to match my decor (but could be misinterpreted as damage). The color corresponds to the picture, the assembly took no longer than 5 minutes. I read the reviews so I was prepared for the fact that "no tools" means "tools" during assembly (I used the bottom of a hammer instead of a rubber mallet - the metal could break the shelves). All in all, the table is so incredibly light that I can throw it with one hand; handy, but it's important to put something heavy on the floor if you're combining like me.
