When used with a Presta valve the center pin pushes down on the pin and deflates the entire tire before you can add air - there are no instructions and I've been messing around with it myself I've been pretty sure I'm not doing anything wrong for quite some time. The whole point of the Presta valve is that it compresses the pin when the air pressure in the pump exceeds the pressure in the tire - this prevents air loss and the need to change the tube every time. I went through the return window so I'll probably keep the gauge but change the tip to a Presta specific part - not impressed as it's extremely awkward to use and also doesn't work well with Schrader valves (significantly harder to jam than my other inflators). ). It's worth noting that the digital readings are sluggish, you have to wait to see the readings so it takes a little longer than with a mechanical gauge. Outside of the Amazon, it's deep enough to actually work (i.e. don't push the pin mechanically, use air pressure when the inflator hose is pressurized). The inflator itself is excellent, just the non-working tip.
