Please do not buy mattress protectors if you have small children at home! Today my husband put him to bed and went into the living room while I was in our room with the baby. A few minutes later my husband started screaming and I ran into my son and he hugged him while sobbing. My husband came in to check on him because he heard faint screams that didn't sound quite right. When he entered the room he couldn't find it and he picked up all the blankets, saw a lump in the mattress and ripped it off. Our 3 year old appeared to have removed the sheet and mattress topper and squeezed in between the mattress and foam padding, but because he still had the protector on. He was stuck in the middle and couldn't move because the foam covered his whole body and face. He took a deep breath as he removed the pillow and sweat poured down on him. If my husband hadn't checked that now, we would have lost him. I saw a choke tag on the packaging but it never occurred to me that he would crawl under it. It's not worth the risk!
