Review on πŸ“· Fotasy Manual Canon EF EF-S Lens to Fuji X Adapter - Black | Compatible with Fujifilm X-Series Cameras by Tim Larsen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Do not be shy. That's great!

Amazing, really. When I bought my Fujifilm X-T1 from B&H in New York, I also settled on a $100 Metabones adapter to fit my Nikkor AE lenses. It was a big mistake, but I didn't realize it until some time had passed. Metabones are so tight that the first time I tried putting a lens on them I thought it was the wrong adapter. I finally got it to fit, but then I realized that every time I take off a lens and put on a new one, I tear the metal off the damn lens axis! The adapter was literally hit with tiny pieces of metal that would have landed on the sensor if I hadn't been careful! Alternatives and found them from Fotasy and also from Fotodiox. I have ordered both. This one cost me about $13 or something? While Fotodiox cost $25. Let me just say that I was amazed at the difference between day and night! Believe it or not, this Fotasy adapter is head and shoulders over Metabones and every bit as good as Fotodiox. I don't know any better. I finally sent the Metabones back and will keep the other two and maybe buy another Fotasy as they are so cheap. I think it's better to have every manual lens I use already with an adapter than without. If I have one negative thing to say about it, it's that the fit can be too loose. There is a bit of play on the body but honestly it's not enough for me to ruin or even interfere with any shots! Another downside is that no body cover is included to cover it when removed from the camera body. But given that the cap itself is around $7-$10, I'm not surprised or angry about it. I'll be a big boy and buy them too. Of course, your mileage with these adapters may vary depending on what type of lens you're using with it I suppose. I'm very, very happy with mine.
