One cable worked, the other didn't.

Purchased two of these cables to create a switched network to share two monitors between two computers (desktop and laptop). One of the cables was clearly damaged. he worked intermittently. Tried on both computers. You can move the cable a certain way and it will fail. The other of the two I bought works perfectly. Update: Got a replacement for a broken cable and bought another one. The replacement cable works perfectly.
