I don't usually write reviews on budget household products, but I've fixed an issue with my unit that I think might help others with the same issue. When the device arrived I couldn't get the alarm to work and the LED didn't light up. The device comes with two cheap AAA batteries from other manufacturers already installed. Most manufacturers either store the batteries separately or put a thin piece of plastic between the battery posts and contacts to prevent them from being discharged before sale, but not this company. The display worked well, although it's pretty hard to see from another angle, but as I said, other key features didn't work. I thought that maybe the reason was that the device was designed to reduce battery drain when batteries are low by disabling those features, and damn it, I was right. After installing a new set of Costco AAA batteries, the alarm and LED worked perfectly. Therefore, replace the batteries before attempting to return any product, even if the device is brand new.
