I use this to connect my Fiio DAC-AMP to a Galaxy phone and it works very well but only when the phone is also connected to power. The adapter does not power my amp when connected only to my phone. I'm sure it will work without a power connection if you just want to connect a flash drive for reading, but I have an adapter that won't charge when connected to OTG and I was sad not to keep that independence with this product. Also, the USB-A port doesn't get power until the USB-C pass-through port is fully populated, which means your phone needs to be plugged in and you need to be connected to power at the same time. This adapter isn't a total rip off, that's more than can be said of many products I've seen, but at best you can do 1 out of 3 or 2 out of 4 functions with it that you want to do with this type of adapter.
