I was twice surprised by this light. Initially my expectations weren't high, but almost immediately I realized that this lantern is a solid construction with thoughtful details. The packaging won't win any awards, but I appreciate that they mimic high-end packaging designs reminiscent of iconic products like the iPhone and other brands. like anchor. It wasn't flimsy, but it was of enough quality and durable enough for you to notice instead of brushing it off on first impression without being a waste of money. Excellent workmanship, expected more plastic. Don't get me wrong, it's mostly plastic, but it feels solid, nothing bends or rattles. The front of the main light is a metal construction and while I would have preferred it all to be one piece, at this price point I was quite happy. The bond between the plastic and metal feels strong and watertight, and while I'm usually concerned about the sealing at the joints, I'm pretty sure it will hold. Installation could be smoother (they don't align as well as they could be), but don't worry about the sealing. The keys also look pretty solid, with crisp feedback and crisp clicks. Impressed again. You can see the size of the light compared to my hand. Light / Brightness Here's surprise #1. The main light was directed away from my face, but I was looking into the light. It didn't occur to me that it would be set to the highest level by default (of course, why not). Despite facing sideways, it was bright enough that the discreetly diffuse lens threw enough light in my direction to blind me. Put simply, holy cow, this thing is bright! I'm usually skeptical of manufacturer claims for brightness. At 800 lm, manufacturers sometimes juggle the numbers a bit. I have several 1000 lumen calibrated flashlights and can say they are pretty bright for the same magnitude. There are 3 levels of brightness that you can see in the photos and the levels of brightness are quite different. Often these levels are fuzzy and meaningless from other manufacturers, but here they're very noticeable, which is welcome and will be useful for a wider range of use cases. At maximum brightness, the light is visible in the room even when the light is on. In addition, there are strobe/flash settings to improve visibility. Mounts They are quite simple and functional. I wish there was a fixed mount and a locking option, but both lights attach to their respective mounts (1 for the front mount, 2 for the rear). The main light is physically fixed by a bracket. The clasp is solid, with very high stability, with no play, which is impressive. The release is firm but soft, so very easy to use. If the shutter fails, I'm sure the shutter is tight enough to hold the light. Again, while there is no lock for the flashlight, the mount can be left in place and the flashlight can be easily removed and taken with you. if you want your bike or scooter to remain locked from the outside. For the taillight, the mount is less secure and more like a solid grip clip and thick piece of rubber. I wasn't overly impressed here, but I wasn't too disappointed either. This makes it easier to remove and may be less secure (apparently worried it'll bounce). The nice thing, though, is that you can attach it to things like your clothes with the pin clip. Especially useful if you prefer to clip it to a helmet or collar for extra visibility. Definitely enough for visibility, especially without having to steer, which amazes me #2: Details. Ratchet mount so you can change the throw direction for the main light. I didn't get it at first because the bracket is so strong I thought it was one piece. Flipping it a couple of times I noticed those dimples and of course a distinct click and the bracket took on a new offset position. This is great because I will actually be mounting it vertically on the stem of my scooter which has limited handlebar space. At the same time, the stem on which the lights are mounted is much thicker than a traditional steering wheel. All mounts are curved on the bottom to fit a standard handlebar, but the radius is too small for my stem. The other two observations are the buckle, I'm less sure of the style they use for the straps, although I think they should be fine. . All you have to do is stretch the strap to get a sufficiently secure fit. Rubber, the material feels very strong, elastic and sticky enough to hold its place. The underside of the main light mount has an extra sticky pad to grab it and hold it in place, which I find useful, and hides the ratchet turnbuckle should it loosen. All in all a great product, surprisingly good quality and definitely happy with this purchase.
