Review on Reversible Cherry Wood Edge Grain Cutting Board By John Boos - 20" X 15" X 1.5 by Bobby Aghetoni

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Received with a defect but only given the option to return for refund

The product arrived yesterday and I was so excited. The color is so nice and the wood is harder and crisper than my previous teak cutting board. However, it arrived with a black mark about 2-2.5 inches long in a conspicuous area (right in the middle, in a light-colored spot). It looks like a Sharpie's mark but I could not rub it off as you would expect for such a problem.I was only given the option to return it for a refund. That seems fair, but I don't want the inconvenience of being without it while it is being sorted out.I'll live with it, but I'm not satisfied. I would have been more pleased if I kept it but was given a discount for the defect. I paid top dollar and expect it to be perfect when it arrives. With all that said, the piece looks great and has the heft I am looking for. Out of the box, it was not "thirsty" as some have said and the first coat of oil is absorbing at an expected pace. The individual blocks are the perfect width; I do not expect any warping on this one, as happened with my teak board, which was made with thinner blocks. I agree that it will last for a long time.I wish I could give it full marks, but the defect disappointed me.
