Received with a defect but only given the option to return for refund

The product arrived yesterday and I was so excited. The color is so nice and the wood is harder and crisper than my previous teak cutting board.However, it arrived with a black mark about 2-2.5 inches long in a conspicuous area (right in the middle, in a light-colored spot). It looks like a Sharpie's mark but I could not rub it off as you would expect for such a problem.I was only given the option to return it for a refund. That seems fair, but I don't want the inconvenience of being without it

Use Space Effectively with THE Cutting Board

Inspired by Ethan Chlebowski from YouTube, I bought this wonderful cutting board to bring to life a portion of my kitchen that was underused.The board fills the space exactly and with maintenance will stand the test of time and fulfill all cutting needs.I had seven different cheap cutting boards lined up in the space also occupied with cooking oils. It was a mess.

My initial impression before first use: a few cosmetic imperfections, but very sturdy and beautiful.

Overall, this is a nice board straight out of the box. It's hefty (I think I heard around 14 or 15 lbs), and it comes "raw". By "raw" I mean it looks freshly milled (see picture with the plastic wrap the board came in, which I perceive to be wood/sawdust powder) and a little dry/unprotected. Upon receiving the board, I seasoned it with a light coat of John Boos oil, let the board sit overnight, and then applied the John Boos board cream. Nice, solid and large cutting board

Less than two years old and broken beyond repair

Purchased the John Boos Block R02 Maple Wood Edge Grain Reversible Cutting Board, 24 Inches x 18 Inches x 1.5 Inches in November 2021. Have been religious in taking care of it since I got it with their products. It has slowly started separating between the pieces of wood. The glue is separating. If you look at the photos you will see a crack that is between two parts of the block that go all the way through the board. This is supposed to be a heritage cutting board that I can pass on to kids…

Gorgeous and functional

I love this bad boy so much! I purchased the largest size, but thinking I didn’t need to go that big, but one down. Oh well, still love it! The wood is beautiful! I treated mine with the oil and the cream to care for it and oh my it’s stunning!

Sliding cutting board

I thought it would be heavier to avoid moving when prepping food. I would have given craftsmanship a 5 start if it did not slid. I had to install rubber feet on the corners to keep it from moving on the countertop. I still would recommend it over other boards.
