I didn't know what to expect as the reviews on this collar and other brands were very mixed. Some say the shock function was too strong, others say not strong enough. Also, some said the remote was difficult to use/understand while others said the remote was easy to use but the battery life was terrible. Well I had no problems at all. The battery life is long. I don't have to use the remote often because my dogs figured it out pretty quickly and stopped the annoying barking, but I've only charged it once in the few weeks I've had it. Also, I have pit bulls and started on setting 2 and then switched to setting 4 which was good enough for my smallest dog. I ended up putting a 7 on Big and Stubborn, and when she screamed too awkwardly for me I lowered it to a 6. Problem solved. Now I use the collar about once a week. The little rubber pads on the metal pins fell off the same day but I just increased the size and they stayed. I think I could give 4 stars for that, but why when seldom anything other than a beach holiday is perfect.
