This device is very easy to refill. At first I couldn't line it up exactly when I put the tank back on but I found out there is a little mark in the tank and base and if you line up those points it goes like a charm. I bought this for my office when the gas heater kicked in and the air was getting a lot drier. I also have a 2 gallon PureGuardian warm/cold mist humidifier and it NEVER gets moldy, it's about 3-5 years old and I've never had a problem with it. I like the no mold feature because mold can't get airborne as it won't grow on these devices. One thing about this smaller device that confused me for days was that I had to press the "on" button multiple times if I wanted to turn it off. TODAY I realized that those 3 button presses are actually a way to adjust the amount of mist. I didn't know this guy had 3 adjustable speeds; Brilliant!. I ordered the exact same block for my bedside table. I've never had any problems with water retention in these devices, but I live in a desert climate. I have had great luck with this brand and will continue to ONLY buy PureGuardian humidifiers as they are mold preventative and reliable. I'm so glad Revain is wearing them. Update: One of the two I bought for this h940 is trying to get some mold but is very difficult to clean with a Lysol wipe. Annoying, but no big deal. My 2 gallon PG humidifier that was 4-7 years old died this winter. I bought a 1.5 PG top fill humidifier (PG H1175). It's so ingenious that you don't have to scoop 2 gallons of water with one hand to place the container on top of the unit; Just remove the cap and fill (I used store bought gallons of distilled water). I still love PG humidifiers so I replaced the dead 2 gallons with another PG. The second H940 I bought works great and only needs a Lysol wipe about twice a season, but the benefits of these units outweigh the SMALL mold issue I had on 1 out of 4 units. Anyway, but again.
