I love that they fit right into my Stratux aircraft position receiver. Being shorter than the original, they were much easier to install on my plane. In fact, I rarely even had to take these antennas off because they fit together so well. but shortly after I started using them, maybe 2 weeks later, the plastic cap covering the metal threads broke. and he split the whole length of the cap. I have never overtightened these plastic caps. Rather, I was careful when tightening as the Stratux connectors are also fragile. Comparing the thickness of the plastic cover with the originals, it is about 1/2 thicker than the originals. This is a mistake with plastic as it would have made sharing easier on its own. I don't know anything about the plastic material used for these caps. This may or may not have contributed to this split. Another suggestion, it would be helpful if there was some sort of marking on the plastic base above the screw cap so it's easy to see where the hinge is that allows them to be tilted. Without this tag, it is much more difficult to find this fishing loop. It would be nice if the manufacturer or supplier would consider replacing the 978 antenna for me. but at least they must be made thicker. Many Thanks. Jim
