I installed this part on my Dyson DC7 Animal today. It was a perfect fit, no fit or screw hole issues. My Dyson is working like new again with a new handle assembly. As others have pointed out, this is a non-genuine part with slightly thinner plastic than the genuine part; but I have a feeling it should hold up pretty well. The gray color doesn't bother me. I found the setup tips posted here by others (especially FrankY's) very helpful. As mentioned, the only tricky part is getting the bottom of the bar into the hole. I did this with the canister on its side and used my left hand to feel the correct position of the bottom of the rod to enter the correct hole. It took several tries and minutes to align properly. Now everything works fine. As others have said Dyson does not sell this part separately. You have to buy the complete cyclone assembly which I found for around $80. This part of the aftermarket grip is a much more economical solution.
