Seemingly identical to many others on the market (perhaps one manufacturer and many retailers), this scale is well suited for the purpose. I tested this on digital kitchen scales and old slides and they were accurate. This little trick allowed me to attach the VTF to my turntable - apparently my counterweight is offset by 0.15 ounces. When I unpacked it and put the batteries in, it didn't work at first. I took the batteries out and played around with setting up the contacts for the batteries and then reinstalled them. After a few tries everything worked. The included storage case is fairly cheap and shabby, but the case for the scale itself fits snugly and does a great job of protecting vital parts. Overall I am happy with this purchase and would buy this scale again if I needed one.
