It was easy to use and there are tons of videos online to teach you the basics. Be careful and watch out for small spacers. Take the time to accurately zero the characteristics of the cylinders you are measuring, and then this tool can be quickly moved to different positions in the cylinders. You need an accurate outside micrometer to zero the scale. A simple inside micrometer can be used to measure cylinders, but it is easier and faster. I used a bore gauge, inside micrometer, outside micrometer, and digital caliper against each other. For the price, this tool is accurate, has a decent body, and gets the job done. I use it to make decisions before doing any mechanical work on cylinder blocks, not as a substitute for measurements and inspections done in the machine shop.
