Review on 🚰 iSpring WGB21B Stainless Filtration System with Connectors by Wagner Witlin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy install and great customer service

We have terrible water and after some research we settled on the iSpring two stage filtration system which turned out to be a great choice for us. My wife and I are not plumbers and have very little plumbing experience but decided to do the installation ourselves. Our home is a newly built home with Pex plumbing which we have never worked with before. A little more research and we settled on using Shark-Bite connectors. Although a bit more expensive, they looked the easiest for a novice plumber to install and matched the fittings that came with the filtration system. We took our time making sure we had clean, even cuts on the pex and used the pex tool to make sure it was a smooth surface so we didn't have any leaks. In general, it took us about 4 hours to install the system. Once installed we were able to charge the system and were glad there were no leaks once it was pressurized. Luck didn't last long as we quickly realized that the water pressure in the house had dropped to almost zero. They thought maybe they installed something wrong so they removed both filters, started the system, the pressure was normal. Then we just installed the sump filter and the pressure was still fine. After installing the carbon filter, the pressure dropped almost to zero again. I did some more research and saw on the internet that carbon block filters can cause a significant drop in water pressure and that it might be better to use a granular carbon filter instead, which was very disappointing and I'd like to look into that. what is ahead of its time. The next day I called iSpring customer service to tell them my problem. The customer service representative was very nice and said that the charcoal filter can get clogged sometimes and that they will send a new one and hopefully that will fix the problem. I was skeptical, but at that moment I had nothing to lose. We ran the system with just the particulate filter fitted for a few days with no problems and as soon as the new carbon filter arrived as promised we fitted it. We charged the system and installed full water pressure throughout the house and everything worked 100% perfectly. The filters are sealed in plastic and although the filters have the same part number, the new one had a bigger/different tag. We're not sure if the first filter was from a bad batch or if they tweaked something to make it work better. I will order additional filters and make sure they are brand new. I give the system 5 stars not only because it has turned out to be a great product and easy to install, but also because of the great customer service. They actually answer the phone and then send a new filter as soon as I describe the problem.
