Purchased on sale - very happy with the quality and grateful for the price. The breakaway clasp seems to strike a good balance between staying on the cat and being able to fall apart if snagged on something. My most annoyed cat can remove the collar by scratching until he catches it right to reveal the breakaway clasp, but I suspect he'd be just as determined to remove any other collar, so it's irrelevant for this particular one. Tear-off collars are much safer for the cat anyway, so I won't be switching to a hard collar. They are big enough to fit my cat's massive 25 pound neck. However, they are NOT adjustable *enough* to fit my very small cat. Another quarter inch would suffice. If your adult cat is particularly small, I recommend a different collar. But it works great with fat cats. :) Edit: However, after a few months of use, the thread of the sewn paw pattern starts to unravel and stretch as the cat scratches its neck over time. This doesn't affect the collar's functionality, but does make it look frayed and worn if that's important to you. I will be happy to cut off the protruding threads and continue to use the collars. Four stars for functionality over form, but I wouldn't buy it at its current $7+ price tag.
