No. This item is optional for detailing. However, it is extremely beneficial for relieving tension in the knees and lower back. There are cheaper versions and there are more expensive versions that have build quality and durability to match. This is a good "middle" option. The red trays are basically coasters meant only for Adam's short round bottles. I didn't even install them. The middle drawer is good and can take a lot. The construction is very good, the quality is decent and handy for cleaning, polishing, waxing and detailing the wheels and lower body. However, it's certainly not designed for comfort. Is it worth the price? Yes and no. I've never seen better or cheaper. If you're good with Adam, it will probably bring you endless fun. All this is combined with Adams buckets and details. It could have been better; A "soft" all-weather seat would be nice, trays that hold real (32oz) aerosol cans, and maybe bring the price down to something most can afford ($75?).
