Review on Stunning Knitting Designs: Explore Beautiful Patterns by Karla Richter

Creme de la creme beautiful patterns

This is not the largest and not the most encyclopedic collection of patterns, but it is one of the best. There are beautiful stitch patterns in all the main departments: lace, cable, stitch, texture, brioche, and color work. Only the prettiest and most useful patterns make it here, and that makes this book something I always refer to despite having large dictionaries of stitches. I designed a scarf and sweater using the patterns in this book. These are sample stitches only; You provide a project. The patterns use mostly European characters but are fairly intuitive, and the book has an excellent glossary of characters to start with, covering all the characters and stitches used, with good written directions for these stitches. Also, the models are fully mapped, not written down. Stitches are photographed in different fibers and weights, which also helps. What else can I say? One of my favorite embroidery books and a purchase recommendation for creative knitters.
