After reading almost all the reviews I don't think I expected much. Especially since I've never been good at making knives super sharp. My Kershaw EDC pocket knife was sharp enough for most of my everyday tasks. But I was never satisfied with the advantage I could get. My doubts came from several reviews stating that the sand advertised did not work. Especially 400 and 8000. Maybe, but I'll say that. The 400 did what I wanted, giving my knife a new, shallower angle, which was achieved in a reasonable amount of time. I made my way from there. I went for 3000 so I can't comment on 8000. To be honest, I'm a bit reluctant to sharpen our kitchen knives that sharp. Maybe a little blood I added to the water at 3000 did the trick lol. But yeah, after that a glove came in handy.
