Effective but likely short-lived

I've used this on a couple of personal knives and a few in a commercial kitchen, about 10 in all. It's very effective but as you'd expect it's time consuming. The main problem is that the lowest grit is not low enough to correct real imperfections in the knife blade. If you have blades that need a proper sharpening, start with something more abrasive first and then move on to finer sharpening. In addition, all stones already have clear signs of wear. It probably won't be of any use until the…

I can literally shave my face with a pocket knife.

After reading almost all the reviews I don't think I expected much. Especially since I've never been good at making knives super sharp. My Kershaw EDC pocket knife was sharp enough for most of my everyday tasks. But I was never satisfied with the advantage I could get. My doubts came from several reviews stating that the sand advertised did not work. Especially 400 and 8000. Maybe, but I'll say that. The 400 did what I wanted, giving my knife a new, shallower angle, which was achieved in a…

Nice sharpening stone set, practical plus bells and whistles

The set contains two good sized sharpening stones. Each stone has two different surfaces, top and bottom. Each stone is clearly marked with a grit. Each stone comes with its own silicone base so it can be placed on a flat surface without worrying about it slipping or scratching the countertop. The silicone base also acts as a holder to hold the stone securely on the bamboo holder. The base also has a non-slip silicone coating on the underside to prevent the rig from shifting when sharpening…
