I've had a couple of these corner litter boxes to confine my ferrets in, but chose this one because it has a grille to keep them from getting in the box to dig . I was able to block the grille using the cutouts and while it stayed in place for one gaming session they recognized it as a tray so I only docked a star. I have yet to see how long the rust stays in place with many play sessions and 3 very persistent ferrets. Also, don't buy these types of ferret corner trays if you intend to use it as your main tray. I've learned from experience with my other two that they're not big enough (because ferrets don't fit well in them, not because they get dirty quicker) for ferrets to enjoy using them on a regular basis, and I've had issues with my pooping outside. Crate. They might work if you could find a bigger one.
