Review on 🐾 The Original Expandable Pet Carrier by Pet Peppy® - Airline Approved Design for Cats, Dogs, Kittens, Puppies - Extra Spacious Soft Sided Carrier for Travel! (Black) by Ashley Stewart

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The quality of the material, the size and the expandable "wings " make this carrier extremely versatile!

I have just returned from a 3 week trip to the USA. This trip included four flights, two stops, several car trips and several hotel transfers. Being able to use this carrier in an airline was very important to me. The backpack fitted snugly but easily under the seat on the first three planes. It had to be "persuaded" (the panel had to be tilted forward very much) to fit under the seat on the fourth plane. but with some effort "he finally got up". (It was difficult to fold down the top arches just an inch to make it easier to slide under the seat, so I downgraded my rating from five stars to four stars. I'd give four and a half stars if it would be possible.) I found that the space under the middle seats was wider than under the aisle or window seats on the planes I flew. On other aircraft, the distance between aisles or windows under seats may be greater. (It depends on the airline and preferred type of aircraft.) This pet carrier is slightly wider than some, so the width under the seat can make a difference in whether the carrier fits comfortably under the seat in front of you. , and if you're lucky, also leave enough room for you to slide your feet on either side of it while flying. Note that some aircraft have sound and television equipment mounted under the middle seat, so both height and width should be checked before booking a seat to determine the best seat for a particular aircraft if you have any type of Have a pet carrier. with you. Mesh top, front and back of the carrier provided adequate ventilation for my pets. (When I wore them, they both stood side by side, enjoying the view through the front grille.) Opening the sides (or "wings") during our three-hour breaks between flights gave the "pups" the opportunity to stretch out a bit hours in the closed stretcher. . Several lightning bolts are involved in the lowering of each of the "wings". It took a few minutes for the airline to shut down when my flight was called, but it wasn't difficult. (You are not allowed to let the dogs inside the terminal or out of the carrier on the plane. Some terminals have dog help posts outside, but to use them you must exit the terminal and then go back through security in turn to get around return to your gate ) I transported two small dogs at a time (one 8 lbs and the other 11 lbs) in the Pet Peppy Expandable Pet Carrier. (Check with the airline. Most airlines will not allow you to carry two adult pets on the same airline.) My dogs are a bonded couple and they rarely go far apart. They fit snugly in the carrier but were able to stand up and turn around carefully. They had enough space (but little extra space) to stretch out and sleep most of the time during the trip. They alternated sleeping positions (side by side with heads together, then one facing forward and the other facing backwards, and later one curled up on one end and the other sleeping on the other end). They happily returned to the extended transporter to sleep later that night. The porter (with two dogs, their leashes, "Dog Diamond" bags, and a small bottle of water) weighed about 22 pounds in total. The stretcher has a strap that fits over the handle of a rolling suitcase, so you don't have to carry that weight on your shoulder as you weave your way through the seemingly endless length of the airport terminal. (You'll appreciate this long before the baggage carousels.) On this trip I took a backpack, not a carry-on. The backpack was a mistake. Not having a trolley to set up, I had to use the included sturdy shoulder strap to carry my busy carry strap from the other end of one terminal to the other (somewhat remote) terminal. Twenty-two pounds isn't much to carry, and I was fine if I only had to carry dogs and their carrier (plus a twenty-five-pound backpack) for relatively short distances. Tired after more than nine hours of driving, the weight became too much for me when I had a very long walk between terminals. I dreamed of a suitcase on wheels that could be used as a luggage rack. Instead, I used a shoulder strap to pull the carrier from one terminal to another. It worked fine but I was very afraid of damaging the bottom of the holder. I'm still surprised and impressed that I can honestly tell you that I don't see any damage to the underside of the stretcher or where the shoulder strap attaches to the stretcher after stretching it this far. Embedding wheels in the bottom of the carrier only raises the carrier, making it difficult (if not impossible) to slide under an airplane seat in front of your seat. My dogs have a cage and two other "normal" carriers. It's now the only one I use for everyday use in our family room and for travel by car or plane. I am very pleased with this style of dog carrier, its durability, the ability to expand it when circumstances permit and how my two dogs have endured the hours of confinement in it. I wish the trunk was an inch lower or the archwires that make up the top were more flexible, making it easier for a person to slide them under the seat. I would also like to be able to attach the carrier to the car seat belt when taking the dogs from place to place. When this carrier wears out I won't hesitate to buy another Pet Peppy carrier with the same expandable "wings" on the sides. This carrier brand is well made. It serves my two dogs well as a sufficiently large travel bag and as a spacious yet comfortable resting and sleeping place for every day at home. The fact that my dogs use it voluntarily both day and night is a sign that they enjoy it. I also! This is the best carrier I have found! If you found this review helpful, please click Yes below.
