I have been taking my little one to swim since he was a child. He loves it but now that he's mobile he slipped twice on the wet surface! So I bought these shoes to prevent that from happening. Surprisingly, I use them most when he's playing outside in the water or paddling pool. They allow him to get in and out of the water and then across hot cement and grass without hurting his feet, and they don't damage his regular shoes. I bought a size up so he can wear it for a couple of years. . The narrow opening ensures that they do not slip off easily. Although there is room in the shoe, he has no problems walking (or running). Update: I'm so glad I bought them. We recently went to the lake. There was a beach, but it was mostly small rocks and broken shells. So glad I had her. I love the soles and how extremely difficult it is for anything to get into his shoes to disturb his foot.
