I won't lie when they first came in the mail they didn't smell good - strong smell of glue. However, the smell went away after washing. I know you shouldn't wash them in dishes, but I don't play by the rules, especially when it comes to chemical smells, which I don't believe will go away without a high temperature wash. They did great! They are still shiny, beautiful, durable and now perfectly clean. I have attached some photos of how the product arrived, how it looked before washing and then after washing and putting the products in. Great for storage. I put the long angel hair paste in the long one and there was plenty of room. I could fit two boxes of pasta in the larger container, a bag of rice in the second tallest container, a bag of (packaged) brown sugar in the third, and a half bag of panko crumbs in the smallest. Very happy with the look of these. They are heavy, not light, very high quality. I recommend to everyone for food storage.
