Review on 🚰 InSinkErator H-Wave-SN Involve Wave Instant Hot Water Dispenser with Stainless Steel Tank - Satin Nickel Finish by Tony Reid

Small but subtle changes over the years

This is the third InSinkErator water heater we have installed since 2005. A lifespan of 5 years seems unnecessarily short, but apparently such a lifespan is not uncommon. We considered other brands, but several factors led us back to InSinkerator. Other brands may not have a tank, but their installation requirements are different enough to cause some inconvenience when connecting. The same wall mount can be used with the InSinkErator, allowing the new device to be easily hung on the wall without the need to measure or install the mount. However, an unfortunate change is that the heater is usually sold with a one or two handle dispensing tap, meaning we cannot simply replace the tank. Along with our purchase came a new faucet with two handles. Earlier since the new twin lever mixer replaced the old one easily no fuss no fuss. We use the instant hot water tap that the InSinkErator provides, as well as cool water from our reverse osmosis system. This time the new double handle tap was too big to fit in the hole that its two predecessors had occupied for many years. Since the countertop material was engineered stone, enlarging the hole was a big problem. We ended up swapping out the two handle faucet and soap dispenser pump because the holes were the right size. What could have been an easy do-it-yourself installation turned into a frustrating day. While both of our previous dispensers were polished nickel to match the main hardware, this unit was only found with a gleaming chrome faucet. Now let's see if this new block, like our 3 others, only lasts 5 years before we have to go through it again.

Pros
