I bought two of these cartridges just under a year ago so this review is telling Tom about the durability of this product . When I first installed and used this product I would have given it five stars straight away. It worked great for about 4 or 5 months, but then the problems started. I started getting toner streaks and what appeared to be low toner (after 400 pages). I'm a tech savvy graduate student so I did all the troubleshooting steps including cleaning the cartridge, shaking it, resealing it, etc. Most of the toner was left in the cartridge but I couldn't get it to print without problems. Nothing helped. Eventually I gave up and installed a second cartridge. It worked like a charm for about 4 or 5 months. The same banding and light printing problems started with this cartridge. I print about 1000 pages a year so these two cartridges should (theoretically) last 5 years. In fact, they lasted less than a year. If you do the math, the price per page is the cost of a Brother cartridge, which is disappointing. I will buy another set of non-genuine cartridges to see if they work better. I will rate them in a year or two!
