Rarely do we find a product that is as good as we hoped it would be. This blackening liquid made me stop a stranger on the street while I was applying it and tell him how amazed I was. The instructions say to wipe off the excess immediately after application. During testing, I thought that leaving it on overnight might infiltrate or somehow improve the results. I was wrong because it gets a little sticky and requires work that can be avoided by following the directions. And perhaps because I waxed the paint (certainly not black plastic) I found I could quickly spread the liquid over the black parts without worrying about excessive smudging as all the extra wipes are easily removed can and the black remains pleasant dark anthracite gloss. And the harder plastic (mirror) turned glossy black. Well! The little bottle did all the work, including the rear bumper and trunk. Even though I started with gloves they leaked so I had a lot on my hands by the time I finished but the kerosene took everything right away except the area around the nails so maybe I'll paint my nails black and nobody will other than my farming stand out.
