I was looking for LED icicles to replace my troublesome mini incandescent bulbs. These lights fill the bill with a beautiful drop length and warm white. Two problems: 1. One of the four packages contained incomplete wiring on some branches. It looks like there never was a strong crimp connection. It looks like it might happen randomly so be careful.2. The strings have a basically useless remote control that selects 8 modes. I'm only interested in always-on (mode 8). Others make your house look like it's about to explode. If you don't use the built-in timer (there are no instructions, but you can google it) you're on for 6 hours and off for 18 hours. If you use a central timer to turn them on and off like I do, by default the lines go into demo mode on startup and cycle through all 8 display modes. I don't go out at dusk every day to choose mode 8! The simple solution is to remove the remote control receiver and 10 foot feeder cord and connect the cord directly to the power wart. The strings have good waterproof connections to the barrel all over, making this easy. You lose the length of the leash, but that wasn't a problem for me. I have two sets of two cords strung together on a Power Wart each and it looks great. Outdoor energy consumption is significantly reduced.
